First of all, I have to say: Juergen Klopp is a motivation genius.
He powered and energised Liverpool FC to success the same way he had done with Borussia Dortmund years before. Klopp has a tricky, genius-like way to talk to his players and make them play power football. Run, run, run, this seems to be his secret of success.
Well, if I think back to his Dortmund years, at some point in time it did not work out any more. So he left. He has probably learned from that and left Liverpool at exactly the right time spot.
As a German, I hope he will be doing well as Germany manager. Because our team is down on the ground after this summer’s World Cup.
England manager Thomas Tuchel is much different to Klopp’s personality and attitude. At first I must say, Tuchel should actually eat more to get some meat on his bones, as he’s really thin.
He is much more „German“ than Klopp, if you like. Tuchel is quieter, more serious and doesn’t seem to laugh a lot. He has had a success in the 2026 World Cup, but as far as I know, he’s also not undisputed within the rough British press (correct me if I’m wrong)?
Anyway, in the past, Tuchel was manager of both (!) Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. These two clubs mean the same for Germans like FC Barcelona and Real Madrid mean for Spain.
As a Bayern manager, he wasn’t very successful. Though being Bayern Munich coach is somehow considered as the “gold standard“ in Germany. Nevertheless, I wish him and the England team success.
